Our Purpose

Our purpose is simple: to support adults with learning disabilities to take positive action towards their goals, whether that’s:

  • Building confidence and social skills
  • Making new friends
  • Volunteering in supportive environments
  • Gaining skills, experience, and qualifications
  • Moving towards supported employment

Alongside this, our social club provides a welcoming space to connect with others, have fun, and feel part of a community.

At Act for Action, we don’t focus on limitations — we focus on potential, participation, and possibility.

Helen is a qualified teacher with 20+ years of experience in the SEND sector including senior management. Loves a bit of drama and beware she will sing when you least expect it!

Also known as Chaos, Sue has boundless energy to match her wealth of experience in health and social care. Qualified at Level 4 in Health and Social Care she is an invaluable asset to our wonderful team.

Also known as Mayhem! Donna is a former SEND youth worker and PE assistant. She is a busy mum of two football mad boys and has experience in her personal life of disability but nothing stops her breaking down barriers and living life to the full.
