We are acting together to make the world more accessible for all. Acting for change
Act for Action’s ethos and aims are clear - we want to make the world more accessible and inclusive but the world is big so we want to start with Merseyside (centre of the universe anyway)!
The LCR census 2021 states that Liverpool has the second highest rate of disabled residents in the country and Knowsley and Wirral have the highest share of disabled residents.
‘6% of adults with a learning disability …are in paid employment ( Dept of health and social care 2025)
This statistic drives us - we want to give disabled people training , qualifications and routes into employment.
The impact this has had on self esteem, confidence and social skills have been immense.

An exciting co production pilot with Edge Hill University supporting them in the training of learning disability nurses. We provide actors to help nurses in their training by taking part in simulations.
Our festival in 2025 saw all of our trainees taking part and showcasing their talents in performance. This wonderful show saw trainees who had not had the confidence to perform in previous shows singing, dancing and acting. The skills used in this kind of activity are very valuable - teamwork, commitment, resilience are seen in abundance.
